Awards & Certifications

Preston Early Learning Centre supports professional development. Staff members attend training sessions, get involved in community development, serve on counsels and boards, and even win some awards along the way.


Lisa Leibel, Executive Director has received the Chrystal Revitt Award of Excellence as a Multi-Site Director.

 

 

PELC hosted a province wide professional development event with Daniel Hodgins in 2015.

Five staff attended the World Forum on Early Learning & Care to present on multi-site organizations.

Sent two of 25 Saskatchewan educators to the Reggio Early Learning Study Tour in Italy in May 2015.

Sent two staff to Forestry School Training in 2016: one to New Brunswick and one to Calgary, Alberta.

Sent four staff to Boulder Journey to learn about documentation and the Reggio approach.

Debbie Mercier is a past Chair of Saskatoon Federation of Early Learning (SFEL).

Louise Hill is a past Chair of SFEL.

Lisa Leibel, Executive Director, is a past Chair of SFEL.

Angela Brooks was on the Board of the Fairhaven School Community Council.

Jeanne Waldner is the current Treasurer of SFEL.

Our teachers are required to have their Early Childhood Education Certificate (one year) or Diploma (two years).

 

Lisa Leibel, Executive Director, has been a presenter at the World Forum in Puerto Rico, presenting on multi sites, & has attended Reggio Emilia twice to learn more about the Reggio approach that we are implementing at PELC.
